The Middle Years Program is designed to introduce students in Years 5 to 8 to the core concepts of money, budgeting, and responsible decision-making — all in an age-appropriate, engaging way. These years mark a turning point where students begin to handle money independently, make everyday spending choices, and develop early habits that will shape their future relationship with finances.
Despite this, financial literacy is often overlooked until secondary school. According to the Financial Basics Foundation, only 36% of students aged 10–14 show a strong understanding of basic money skills — yet early exposure is proven to improve long-term financial confidence and responsibility.
To address this, Young Finance delivers interactive, curriculum-aligned workshops that focus on:
Students engage in hands-on games, role-play, simulations, and collaborative group work that reinforces both financial literacy and core numeracy skills. Each workshop is designed to integrate seamlessly with your school's learning objectives in Mathematics, HASS, and general capabilities, while making the content exciting and relevant to students’ daily lives.
With our Middle Years Program, we aim to help young learners not only understand money — but start building a healthy, confident relationship with it from the very beginning.
